The head is essentially round, yet we often work in quite rigid sectioning when colouring. In this masterclass, Coia shares a technique in which our sections will be working on a circular pattern around the head. Working on the hairline first and continuing around the perimeter, then moving inward and following the pattern in sections but lightening the hair less and less the closer you move inward toward the crown. The effect this gives is similar to that of how the sun might naturally lighten the hair, bright around the hairline while maintaining depth as we work inward.
The beauty of this technique is that it can be as bold or as natural as you choose as you’ll see in the masterclass. It is finished with a tailored toner using our formulas and application to put the finishing touches on the blend.

About Diamond Lights

When your client wants to be ‘Blonde Blonde’ without the upkeep. Diamond lights quite literally works in a diamond section around the head, the closer to the hairline the lighter it will be, using less foils as we work inwards toward the crown!
Your sectioning pattern and foiling here will ensure you lift the hair in the right places while keeping just enough natural to keep it low maintenance!
This technique works extremely well on a busy salon floor.

About Coia
Coia is a 28 year old salon owner (Hemera Salon) and colour educator. She was self employed at the young age of 21, and has been very determined to keep up-skilling to become the best that she could be. A lot of her work and techniques are self taught and the techniques that she teaches are all created by herself.
She is that stylist that is a little outside the box and does things her own way. She knows what works for her and loves to share that knowledge whenever she can.
