About Katherine Sweeney

Katherine is a multi-award-winning creative hair artist, who has been at the forefront of hairdressing for over 25 years.  She has had an illustrious career to date, having started her hairdressing journey in London, as a stylist, before moving to Dublin to join TONI&GUY as Head of Education for their Irish salons. She was key in implementing the training strategies and programmes for their Education Centre, and has trained numerous leading Irish hairdressers, many of whom have gone on to run their own successful salons.  For the 13 years she was with TONI&GUY, she was also responsible for their Creative Team, leading on the many shows and seminars they did in the UK and Ireland.  

Until the end of 2020, Katherine owned the highly successful PREEN Hair and Beauty in Dame Street, sadly closing the doors at the time Covid was at its peak.  Under the direction of Katherine, the PREEN team won many accolades and the salon was one of the most highly respected in Ireland, with a reputation for the best for colour, cut and beauty, as well as exceptional customer service. 

After PREEN closed, Katherine was head-hunted by the established QUEEN group of salons, to be part of their styling team and head up their education programme.

About Cole Thompson & Elevation H

International Creative Director, and founder of Elevation H, Cole Thompson is originally from Manchester England and has been active the hair industry since 2000.

Cole started his career in independent salons around the Manchester area before beginning work for Vidal Sassoon in 2003, where he quickly became one of Vidal Sassoon’s youngest “Creative Directors”. During his 12 years at Vidal Sassoon, Cole gained tremendous respect in the industry while working closely with many schools in their “School Connection” program. He has traveled the world to educate professionals at all levels on hair cutting technique in both seminar and classroom settings. He also became an expert consultant as he developed programs to help clients grow and improve school curriculums, business and salon management and structure, client growth, assistant training programs, and more.

Cole left Vidal Sassoon in 2015 to continue spreading his expansive knowledge to hair professionals of all levels all around the world, this time through Elevation H, THE ART, TECHNIQUE, AND BUSINESS OF HAIR. Cole’s passion for educating is evident in his work, as he continues to help others strive for excellence in all areas of the industry.

This masterclass will enable you to sculpt and manipulate type 4 hair without the use of excessive heat. Nicole Iroh is a well-known session stylist and Creative Ambassador for the Headmasters Salon Group. Her session experience includes working on feature films such as 'Wonder Woman' and Aladdin. About Davide Spinelli

Davide Spinelli started his career as an apprentice at the age of 14 in his hometown in the south of Italy. He later moved to Florence after which his passion and love for precision hair cutting and avant-garde hair, ultimately led him to London.

In London he has worked alongside with some of the best names in the industry: Sanrizz, Hob Salons as well as Trevor Sorbie.

As well as being a valued member of the education team, teaching at all levels, he became an integral part of the world renowned Trevor Sorbie Artistic Team, where he gained experience and knowledge travelling on shows, seminars and experimenting on creating images and collections of his own.

This hard work led to his nominations as a finalist of Hairdressing Journal, British Hairdressing Awards, London Hairdresser of the year 2019, a finalist in THE BIG ONE Awards 2019, The Experimental One lead by prestige industry magazine TRI-BUTE and finalist for Fellowship Image of the Year 2020.

In January 2020 Davide started his own company ‘DAVIDE SPINELLI EDUCATION’. His dream is to make a permanent change in hairdressers' lives around the globe, passing on this wealth of knowledge and giving confidence and inspiration to all he teaches.

The head is essentially round, yet we often work in quite rigid sectioning when colouring. In this masterclass, Coia shares a technique in which our sections will be working on a circular pattern around the head. About Chapter Education

One half of Chapter Education is Paddy Corrigan. Paddy began his career as an apprentice hairdresser for Peter Mark in 2009 where he studied the art of hairdressing. Over time Paddy found his niche in cutting men's hair and enjoyed the blending of contemporary hairdressing with modern barbering.

He opened his own hair salon, Area 9, in 2013 and focused on building his brand through hard work, along with his passion for creative learning and wanted to encourage others to develop their skills. His online presence and popularity in the barbering industry led to barbers contacting him about teaching their staff. Paddy has facilitated a number of educational workshops in barbershops, hairdressing salons and on the stages of major barbering events in Ireland and throughout Europe.

The other half of Chapter Education is Warren Flynn, owner of the award winning salon, The Dublin Barber. International hairstylist Laurent Philippon began his career as a teenager at his father’s barbershop in France. Well, the first secret is right there in the title - the reason BE is in caps is to make it clear that it's not enough to want to be fantastic, to talk about it or just agree with the principle - you have to take action - you have to BE Fantastic! The next understanding is what action to take though - and this is where the key to the success of the Fantastic Hairdresser is, it's the foundation stone of everything they teach - the 50% Rule.  Alan Austin Smith believes that 50% of what makes someone fantastic at their job has nothing to do with their job! For example; 50% of what makes a fantastic hairdresser (not a good one!) has nothing to do with a pair of scissors or a tint brush.
